This past May, Eventions Productions once again produced an amazing four day event for one of our favorite clients, Pilot Freight.  Their corporate sales meeting was held in Miami Beach at the historic Fontainebleau Hotel.  We worked closely with the client’s creative team to come up with and execute a “Welcome To Miami” theme for their conference.

Since many of the guests were from all across the country as well as overseas, we decided to create a four minute opening music HD video showcasing the city of Miami, its different neighborhoods and attractions, as well as the varied cultures that make up the area.  Some cameos from the Pilot’s delivery trucks and staff popped up in the video causing a great reaction from the crowd.

Since the HD video was so instrumental in setting the tone and energy of the event, we decided to showcase it on a seventy foot wide high definition video wall that became not only the video screens for the event, but also the backdrop for the entire stage.

Now a humongous video wall is cool, but it’s the content that’s shown on it that really makes an impression! Our production crews spent 6 days over a two month timeframe shooting the opening video as well as over 60 additional time lapse videos , still backgrounds, and scenic shots. We included sunrise time lapses and during the gala dinner, a real time sunset overlooking the Miami Skyline.

We found this really cool section of Miami called Wynwood Walls, where graffiti artists and other creative artists have painted whole neighborhoods in vibrant colors. We captured much of the artwork and used it as backgrounds for the stage. In addition, Helicopters, drones and shots from boats were used in the presentation.  Each segment of the event was choreographed and scripted so that the images on the screen coordinated with the lighting and presentations at the time.

Aside from incorporating the current day beautiful scenery, we made sure to pay homage to the history of the hotel. The Fontainebleau was the original hotel that Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack used to hang out at and perform in. During one of the dinner events, we played a 15 minute video loop that we created of old footage showcasing the hotel and the Rat Pack.

It was an exhilarating and exhausting experience, and we’re already looking for ways to top this year’s event for next year’s Pilot’s conference.

Way Cool! Check out the video below!
